PROJECT: Dijon Must’art

Dijon Must'art musicians

Dijon Must’art is a citywide, weeklong project celebrating the creativity and vitality of Dijon. A delegation of leading chefs, wine experts, artists, musicians and businesspeople, led by the City of Dijon’s Senator-Mayor François Rebsamen, visited New York for a series of events the week of March 1, 2010.

Dijon Must’art coincided with the opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art of the traveling loan exhibition “The Mourners : Medieval Tomb Sculptures from the Court of Burgundy.” Between 2010 and 2012, this exhibition of celebrated masterpieces of medieval Burgundian sculpture, organized by the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Dijon and The Dallas Museum of Art, will travel to seven museums across the United States under the auspices of FRAME (the French Regional & American Museum Exchange).

Atlas Merchandise was honored to to provide several items for this auspicious event, including the jackets and hats worn in the photos above and below. Working across several languages, countries and time zones is not without its challenges, but making clients happy and being a part of successful events is well worth the effort!

PROJECT: Julie & Julia Aprons

Julie & Julia ApronOne sure sign that you’ve created a good product is your friends and family pestering you for any samples you may have around…and that’s exactly what happened with the aprons we created for Sony Pictures’ hit Julie & Julia.

When creating proposals for merchandise, we try to focus on what’s appropriate for the property being promoted as well as what the target audience would like and use. For Julie & Julia, an apron seemed to fit the bill nicely. Though it’s not in the title treatment, our contact at Sony wisely thought the design could use some additional pizzazz, hence the wire whisk. To take it even further, we opted for a slightly raised metallic ink which catches the light and dazzles the eye.

With an adjustable neck strap and large front pockets, this apron protects from splatters while making quite a splash!

PROJECT: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Umbrellas

Cloudy Umbrellaa

Atlas Merchandise’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs umbrellas being used to decorate the film’s red carpet premiere!

It helps to be movie buffs sometimes. The more closely we identify with the target audience, the easier it is to propose merchandise that will excite and delight. If we can come up with something that we think is cool and we really want, then it’s a fair bet that others will feel the same way.

We had a lot of great ideas when brainstorming products for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but then Kevin suggested umbrellas. We have done umbrellas for clients before, but this one was such a perfect fit for the film that we immediately knew we had a winner.

Apparently, the designers and decorators for the film’s premiere agreed with us — they used our products in a display suspended over the red carpet!

The umbrellas were such a hit that when the sequel was released, we created an all-new design to emphasize the many fun “foodimal” characters being introduced!

PROJECT: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)

Caitlyn's Crew JDRF walk

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the worldwide leader for research to cure type 1 diabetes. It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.

It is also one of the causes near and dear to Atlas Merchandise, which is why we have jumped at the chance to provide merchandise for some of its fundraising teams. For several years, the t-shirts we created for Caitlyn’s Crew (designed by the young, feisty fundraiser herself) won the t-shirt contest. We don’t know how this year’s shirt will do, but we do believe that everyone wins when funds are raised for good causes! If you’d like to donate to a very worthy cause, click the JDRF link above.
